En Soria Energ\u00eda queremos que nuestros clientes entiendan y conozcan a la perfecci\u00f3n el mundo de la electricidad, por ello, en este post vamos a hablar de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la corriente el\u00e9ctrica?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La corriente el\u00e9ctrica es<strong>\u00a0el flujo de carga el\u00e9ctrica que recorre un material conductor durante un periodo de tiempo determinado<\/strong>. Se expresa en C\/s, culombios por segundo en el Sistema Internacional de Unidades, y la unidad se conoce como Amperio (A).<\/p>\n<p>Para que exista corriente el\u00e9ctrica, los electrones m\u00e1s alejados del n\u00facleo del \u00e1tomo de un material, tendr\u00e1n que desligarse y circular libremente entre los \u00e1tomos de dicho cuerpo. Este fen\u00f3meno tambi\u00e9n puede ocurrir, con variaciones, en la naturaleza, cuando las nubes cargadas desprenden chorros de electrones que circulan por el aire y causan los rayos.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo se produce?<\/p>\n<p>Se produce como consecuencia del movimiento de cargas libres (generalmente electrones) que se encuentran dentro de un material conductor concreto en un circuito el\u00e9ctrico. En un circuito el\u00e9ctrico cerrado, la carga de electrones va siempre del polo negativo al polo positivo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 intensidad tiene la corriente el\u00e9ctrica?<\/p>\n<p>La intensidad de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica (I) es la cantidad de electricidad o de corriente de carga que circula por una secci\u00f3n de un circuito a en una unidad de tiempo. La unidad de la intensidad de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica es el amperio (A). Todos los conductores el\u00e9ctricos tienen que soportar cantidades de cargas distintas, y a mayor carga mayor resistencia debe tener el material del que est\u00e1 compuesto.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo medir esa intensidad?<\/p>\n<p>Para medir la intensidad de corriente en circuitos el\u00e9ctricos se utiliza el galvan\u00f3metro (si est\u00e1 calibrado en amperios se llama amper\u00edmetro). El galvan\u00f3metro se coloca en serie en el conductor por el cual circula la corriente que se quiera medir. La intensidad de corriente es directamente proporcional a la tensi\u00f3n o voltaje.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tipos de corriente el\u00e9ctrica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dependiendo del sentido de la corriente y de la temporalidad, se pueden definir dos tipos de corriente el\u00e9ctrica:<\/p>\n<p>Corriente Continua (CC)<\/p>\n<p>La corriente continua es un tipo de corriente el\u00e9ctrica de flujo continuo de carga el\u00e9ctrica a trav\u00e9s de un conductor entre dos puntos de distinto potencial y carga, de un solo sentido de circulaci\u00f3n de flujo, no var\u00eda desde el polo positivo hacia el polo negativo. Para denominar que una corriente es continua, es necesario que el flujo de corriente no cambie de sentido, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del tiempo transcurrido, siempre tiene que fluir en la misma direcci\u00f3n. La intensidad puede variar siempre y cuando conserve la misma polaridad.<\/p>\n<p>Corriente Alterna (CA)<\/p>\n<p>La corriente alterna es un tipo de corriente el\u00e9ctrica caracterizada por los cambios a lo largo del tiempo, tanto de magnitud como de direcci\u00f3n, a intervalos regulares. El voltaje de la se\u00f1al alterna var\u00eda entre sus m\u00e1ximos y m\u00ednimos de manera c\u00edclica, la mitad del ciclo es positivo y la otra mitad es negativo. Eso significa que la corriente circula en ambos sentidos, seg\u00fan sea positiva o negativa. Este ciclo se repite constantemente. Es el tipo de energ\u00eda que usamos en nuestros hogares para alimentar todos los aparatos el\u00e9ctricos, con una frecuencia constante de 50 Hercios. Fue desarrollada e impulsada por Nikola Tesla.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Efectos de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Entre los efectos de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica, son tres los que se definen de forma habitual:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Efectos calor\u00edficos.<\/strong>\u00a0Se producen por el aumento de temperatura del conductor debido al paso de la corriente el\u00e9ctrica. Tiene aplicaciones b\u00e1sicas en estufas, hornillos, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Efectos qu\u00edmicos.<\/strong>\u00a0Se produce en conductores i\u00f3nicos, donde la corriente produce cambios qu\u00edmicos, \u00fatiles por ejemplo en la electr\u00f3lisis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Efectos magn\u00e9ticos.<\/strong>\u00a0Toda corriente el\u00e9ctrica que pasa por un conductor crea un campo magn\u00e9tico similar al producido por los imanes. Sus aplicaciones son infinitas, desde los motores el\u00e9ctricos, televisiones, radios, volt\u00edmetros, amper\u00edmetros, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Efectos lum\u00ednicos.<\/strong>\u00a0Sucede cuando pasa la corriente a trav\u00e9s de un filamento y se enciende una bombilla. En el caso de tubos fluorescentes o diodos luminosos, se produce una transformaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en energ\u00eda luminosa.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Efectos fisiol\u00f3gicos.<\/strong>\u00a0Este efecto puede afectar a las personas y a los animales, originando electrocuci\u00f3n.
